Matthew is 14 today.  Can you believe it!? He’s my oldest, but still my baby!   He had a small little party with a friend on Sunday.   He’s been wanting one of those PSP things, so he got one for his birthday.    We don’t usually spend that much for b-day presents, but all he got for Christmas was a MP3 player (not an iPod brand- one that cost a lot less) and some clothes….so we felt like we could get a nicer b-day gift for him.      You all know how it is with medical bills……  we can’t always get them all what they want for Christmas or any other time (not that we would even if we had money)

Today he chose to get meatball subs from our favorite Italian place and he wants to watch the Passion.   He’s wanted to watch that movie for a while.   He knows what it is about….. and they are all old enough to watch it now.

Today, I am counting my blessings that he is such an amazing boy and so close to Jesus.  He is excited about his upcoming confirmation and has been doing extra Bible reading on his own and everything.   My little boy is growing up!   He’s over 5’ 11” now—we’re afraid to measure!  LOL

I spent a lot of today (other than homeschooling and doing chemistry experiments) trying to get this movie downloaded to Sean’s iPod!  I told him at Christmas that we would buy a movie for him before our Cinci trip…… little did I know getting the blasted movie on the thing would be so crazy……   he also picked two songs to add—Open the Eyes of My Heart Lord and Every Step I Take (I take in You)—those downloaded in a flash……   anyone else have trouble with the movies downloading?

Peace be with you,

Pattie

It sounds like his birthday was really nice:) Its hard to believe how fast they grow.......I know everyone says that, but its really true. He sounds like a wonderful kid. we got my girls each an MP3 for Christmas, too.....it was around $30, but nice, and they love them:). Savannah esp loves her to take to infusion....keeps her mind busy.

oh, we're ok. We've been a little concerned bc my husbands work started a lay off out of the blue......we didnt think he would be laid off, necessarily, but he could have been demoted several levels(and  a LOT of money), which was concerning, of course. As of today, though, it looks like he's going to first shift.....which will be WEIRD,lol, he's been on third shift for 11 yrs! that will take some adjusting......the pay will drop some, but n ot terribly. I am SO grateful.......the only other option would have been for him to go back to doing what he did when he started there....14 yrs ago.
Olivia is still trying to fight off the assumed influenza from a month ago.....Savannah had a nasty asthma flare, and we were snowed in!, but she seems to be better now, Donovan is coming down with something, and so far, Brennan is just getting nuttier by the day,:) but not sick. We have infusion on Tuesday, and Savannah is getting a repeat PFT done, bc the last one showed only 26% in the small airways. Im trying not to dwell on that.
Other than that........just life, you know? I feel like Im always doing, but nothing gets done......like no matter how much time is in the day, my jobs expand to fill that time, and there is nothing left over. Oh, my girls raced in a pinewood derby at our church and Olivia won first and Savannah took second, they got trophies. That was fun.......esp since we did the cars entirely on the night before the race.......bc our basement flooded and a ton of stuff had to get ripped out. So that was cool......the trophies, not the basement:)
