Hello all,
The proposal to update the specification to allow for deallocation of a scalar coarray handle to address issue #143 was voted upon and passed on September 15. Two options were presented as possible design choices to address this. While individuals had different design proposal preferences, the process moved to PR with proposed edits. The associated PR #144, which provides the necessary edits to the specification, has 2 approvals from PRIF Committee members other than the author. The next step is now to vote to adopt these edits. These edits were easily expressed in a formatted PDF, so please reference either PR #144 to review again the edits in Markdown or see the formatted PDF attached to this email to review the changes to be adopted, if passed.
This email begins the vote to adopt the edits expressed in PR #144. The changes must receive approval from 50% of votes (excluding explicit abstentions) to be ratified. Only PRIF Committee members may vote and the options are Yes, No, or Abstain. This vote will remain open until 5 PM (Pacific Time) on Monday, October 27th. In order to register your vote, please reply all to this email and state your vote. If voting against, then your vote must include comments that explain your rationale.

Thank you for your time,
