PRIDE Inspector is a new stand-alone, open source application for browsing, visualizing and performing an initial assessment of MS proteomics data. It is freely available at: http://code.google.com/p/pride-toolsuite/downloads/list

PRIDE Inspector is also available via Web Start from the PRIDE website.

PRIDE Inspector allows different views on the data: experimental details, proteins, peptides and spectra. Additionally, a major strength of the tool lies in the possibility to perform a first assessment on data quality, since a variety of statistical charts based on the data are generated automatically. PRIDE Inspector can be used by researchers (before the data is submitted to PRIDE) and by reviewers and editors, in the review process of a manuscript.

At the moment, PRIDE Inspector supports the file formats PRIDE XML (PRIDE native format) and mzML. Additionally, it also provides access to the PRIDE MySQL public instance.
