Paso Market Walk 3/22/19

Met with Jill today. Owner is Debbie (Justin Winery former owner/partner). Paso Market Walk expected to OPEN in October 2019. Have a few slots available wondered if we might be interested. See photos for prices and available slots. If slot available they may consider 6mos "trial" for us. They were under the impression we are a worker/cooperative. I clarified we are member/owner cooperative. They are looking for fresh produce provider and possible deli type provider. They provide pod with access to water and utilities as well as security. Vendors provide own equipment, etc. My concerns are no kitchen access, not much storage, etc. Told Jill I would pass on this information to Board/Steering Committee.

  I am not throwing this out.  In my head i am running different scenarios; possible location for our buyers club?  Almost like a CSA pick up spot?  It would require a lot of leg work, would need to hire a few staff members and probably a store manager who then would grow into the larger store.  A lot of deliveries would have to be same day.  If a few of us want to try and make a list of the realities of this we could weigh the benefit of exposure.

My thought is that we aren't ready for this type of commitment.  I agree there could be a possibility, but it would need a full time effort by at least 1 person, if not 2. Figuring out that aspect seems daunting.  Plus, we can wait & see what it evolves into, and what kind of traffic, etc.  Looking at the construction, it looks pretty big (larger than I thought it would be).  If it ends up with more tourists than locals, then not really a good match.

 Lydia would you like to respond to Jill?  I want to be open to possibilities, at the same time the reality is that we are not in a position to be there and ready when they want to open.
