iPad and issues

Hello there.

I got Prey on a pro plan for my various devices, as for some reason when I tried it free on my Android phone it didnt quiet work right, (Never got any reports past 11 days)
Now I brought a new iPad and I tried prey on it, (Sort of self installed from my iTunes when syncing my iPhone apps), I logged in and added the device, however when marking it as missing, it never sends a report, it also says on the device type, Mobile or Phone (cant remember) and there is no link to delete the device.

Not really sure if I went with something wrong though, but right now if I set the timing to on demand, there are no reports, I dont think I have the option to allow notifications and what not. 
Also back then my android phone didnt do any notifications but my iPhone worked somewhat just fine (The need to answer to notifications is a bit.. weird). So how can I delete the iPad and properly reinstall Prey on it?

You can 'detach' the device from the control panel in the app settings or you can just delete the app, it should remove the config too (I'm not 100% sure on Android though). There should also be a delete button on the device page when it isn't marked missing. The iOS & Android versions have different features, & work differently, the blog goes into how they work…

Hey,

Thanks for the reply. I did remove the app from the iPad and reinstalled it and it appears as registered now, nevertheless I havnt received a report yet after 3 hours. Does it only work if I open the notification sent? iPhone seemd to send reports with the location only despite me answering the notification.

Also I still have the iPad (from before) awaiting SMS activation and counting towards my devices count. I havnt had a chance to reinstall it on the android phone so I am not sure if I have any questions.

I forgot to mention, I cant detach or delete the device from the cp (The iPad awaiting SMS validation)

I think that means the iPad is in 'missing mode' but it isn't communicating with the control panel. Turn off missing mode & it should become deletable in the control panel.

Hello again.

Sorry for the late reply. You were right, I disabled the missing option and I was able to delete the iPad.

Now I have a question, I have marked my iPad as missing about 3 days ago, and I have been out and back from home and I havnt received any reports about it being missing, despite me using it. I have set it to 2 minutes reports for testing porpuses. On Demand doesnt seem to work either. How would it actually work, considering I can do on demand requests? I did read the link you showed me earlier about location service to save battery, but I have moved as minimum as 3km with the iPad and it hasnt sent a single report.

Also my android phone which is activated and registered, gets an alarm if I send one, however location or anything else doesnt seem to work, either by demand or with reports on intervals.

Lastly, and as a suggestion, I think the FAQ and other sources of information are a bit outdated, might be good to update the info or questions!
