After 3 days, i still haven't received any reports.
I double checked the config, and they are ok.
Also i send 2 sms with the message GO PREY.
The alarm and the warning message for the thief didn't appear on the
tablet.
What's wrong?
Diego
Personally I would test with ONLY the "Information to Gather" items turned
on. The "Actions to Perform" are more complicated, and can lead to a locked
device if things don't work right.

What happened?
The thread history is http://groups.google.com/group/prey-security/browse_thread/thread/f6b079a7fda4b9f0
I have seen times when I don't get my messages via email that appear in the history - something to do with the group settings for my account I expect.
New members are moderated so it's possible someone removed the message (accidentally or otherwise). I think moderators will notify authors if the message contains private info or doesn't look like spam.
It could be something else entirely, dig it out of your sent history & resend it if you can.

My original message was:
"I tried your suggestion and the system generate a report after 2 minutes.
However, could not figure out why I needed to force the "missing status" from the tablet itself.
This is not the best option. Do you have any ideas about what happened?"
Tks

[Prey-Security] Prey 0.5.3 (Android) Not Performing Any Actions on Andrioid 4.0 (Verizon Galaxy Nexus)
I send the code "GO PREY" or "STOP PREY" to the tablet and the message is delivered (I get the delivery confirmation from the carrier).
However, I still didn't receive reports and the website doesn't change the status from "missing" (or not missing).
I think maybe there's something wrong with the app. Maybe the system can't read the sms received.
Anyone on the group can help?
Drew i will try your suggestion.
It's been almost four months since my first post about not receiving reports using Prey on Motorola XOOM.
I even get a message from the team of developers saying they will contact me for additional information, but, so far, nothing.
The problem remains the same.
When I put the missing mode directly on the tablet, the system generates the report; if I do the same on a SMS message or in the website, no reports are generated.
Another issue I detected is when I change the SIM CARD to a different carrier. Prey should take this info to report me about the SIM change (SIM detection mode is enabled).
However, the only thing Prey’s made was crash.
I turn the device on after replace the SIM and the APP crashed over and over. To stop the problem I needed to login on the app and hit the “assign SIM”.
In fact, at this point, Prey’s gives me more problems than solutions.

It sounds like it is crashing & has no chance to work. I'm sure you have already tied the obvious steps…
Uninstall & reinstall Prey (remove the device from the CP)
Factory reset the device & only install Prey (to be sure it is not some other app conflicting).
If it is the SIM detection crashing the app it won't be running to receive persistent connections for 'on demand mode'.

I'm glad it starting to work in some form.
