Used the hola.org plugin and hey presto, connected to USA netflix. Sign up for the free trial and all looking good, i can see movies and browse around etc, I even played one from the first screen. However .. Search doesn't work?!?! At all! Looks like it's trying to be predictive so even typing the first letter the screen turns to "Nothing Found"Some stuff found on google but more android or IOS apps. I've tried chrome and firefox so far.Anybody else?
The only problem is that billing is now done in CAD, which is slightly stronger than the USD.After the signup, you can change regions by using a different VPN gateway and restarting Netflix. Billing remains in CAD but you get content from that region.
Using Unblock-Us to access the US netflix from Australia. Went through the sign up process and got to the part where I have to enter the Credit Card details to get my Free Month but when I put in my Debit Mastercard it comes up with the Error:
Thought this might be to do with it being an Australian card so i went to Entropay and made a card for this. Put the $20 in to get all the info required then went back to netflix and put in the info for this new Entropay card and again I get the error:
Your basically paying a $19 fee but it is a once off. They provide you with a pre-paid vanilla visa, you can register any US address to it and register netflix using this address. Once your registered you can use the normal netflix gift cards.
I think you still need a valid c/c to register in the first instance. I would probably try Load and Go first, and if that fails use the above option. It is a legit site, I used it to get my HULU going as they wouldn't take my c/c. Netflix took my commonwealth bank c/c without issue.
I'm trying a couple different zip codes now to see if it unblocks it. Not sure whether it would be that though as it tells me the card is the problem and when I entered a bad zipcode it gave me a zipcode based error.
It rejected my credit card (commonwealth debit mastercard) over 50 times, but then magically accepted it. Maybe it's random? Maybe you have a better chance using the gift card and switching up your Zip code and email address?
Anyway I got in, but all the content is in shitty low (240p?) quality. I am given no option for HD content. I chatted with the online help thing and apparently Netflix gives you quality based on what it detects your bandwidth to be. No way around it. My bandwidth is fine from my perspective, but it doesn't meet their standards so I get shafted.
Shot an email to the support over at Unblock-us and they told me that I should try making a new account (which some of you did to) with a new email. I then entered all the infomation for my Entropay card and it took it first try.
Anyone having issues tonight with authentication? Can't connect on my ps3, nor login to their website, stating they're experiencing difficulties, check back in a few minutes... Kind of been like 3 hours.
Just a heads up. I can confirm this works. I just set up a Load and Go credit card with an address in Delaware and set it up for my Netflix, Hulu and Vudu accounts. Works great and as it's a local product easy to reload and use.
Is there a way to buy netflix gift cards with a debit card coz i dont have a credit card. If not what r the ways to buy netflix gift card without real credit card. I saw some some one at ebay selling cheap netflix subscription codes for 3 months. But they are saying it is redeemable at So does that mean i should be having a chromecast device also ith me? Help Plzzz???
A friend signed up with a Woolworths HSBC card and they just suspended it without notifying him. He had to phone HSBC himself the next day and ask why his card wasn't working. It really does seem to depend on the bank how they handle the transaction and if they allow it at all. If you have a Citibank card I suggest using that!
I use the Load N Go card for both unblock-us and Netflix and it works fine. I would try a different Web Browser as was suggested as a first step, either Firefox or Chrome. You don't need to enter any spaces in the number.
I use my PS3 for netflix and it runs really well on my adsl2+ connection, it runs nearly always at the super hd settings but the resolution scales if your connection gets congested. It uses allot of data, i have nearly used up my 500gig download cap a few times just streaming netflix and hulu.
It's important to use your real information on the card if you plan on using it for anything else but Netflix. It's the only way you have of getting your funds back if something goes wrong. If you lose your card and or information you can't prove who you are etc.
I don't care if I lose it. I don't keep more than $20 on it at any given time. If I lose it, I can just buy a new one and change it on my accounts. But as it's for digital transactions only I have no need to take it out of the house and it's kept in a drawer.
As I said, you'll be fine for now, but there's another thread which talks about Foxtel pressuring Netflix to only accept US credit cards. If they change policies again then at least you know what to do.
I use mine for all kinds of transactions, I've loaded over $700 onto it for some online purchases. If you start loading hundreds of bucks on to it, it needs to be properly registered. If people leave it totally unregistered and you lose the card there is no chance of getting your money back. The documentation warns of this.
I won't get into that debate because I know nothing about it sorry but it sounds like Hungry Jacks asking McDonalds to stop selling Big Mac's. All I can say is that my card is still working and I used my real address.
tried signing up to netflix using tunlr.net. it let me make an account fine but when i got to the page to enter credit card details or go to paypal, i click the button and nothing happens. doesn't start loading anything, no error messages, just nothing.
i failed to signup over the weekend with my normal Visa, so i got a load&go prepaid today and it worked. I DIDNT register the card to my name, so it does not know my postcode and i used 90210 on the netflix signup.
The studios are not happy that Netflix is selling access to their IP outside of the terms and conditions. Consequently I would not be surprised if Netflix are tightening up eligibility requirements or confirming validity of details.
Are you sure you haven't got a new card from the bank with the same numbers but with a different expiration date? If that is the case go to Netflix and just enter the new expiration date, it has happened to twice already.
Guess what? if they do that they are shooting themselves in the foot. as an alternative banned users will instead simply subscribe to a Usenet provider or private torrent tracker for the same or less money and get their content that way..
Yesterday after much frustration I finally setup a US Paypal account and used my friends address in NY for my home address. I added my AU credit card and finished the Netflix signup process and now have access.
We will see at the end of the free month if Paypal/Netflix works for this transaction. If not I will try something else. :)
Hola has been flaky of recent so I am trialling Unblock-Us which should be near an end then I am going to try Getflix. I will no doubt end up on Getflix as it is under $40 per year. Try one of the free trial sites and see if that improves your experience. I know it has worked well for me so far.
well I got getflix free trial and have been trying out amazon prime instant video, to bad all the movies/tv shows are not including on prime. still wish I could get netflix, stupid credit card wont work on it :(
I have a friend in the USA whom I worked with here in Australia and I use his street address and have a US Paypal account with my Australian credit card attached to it. Netflix has just taken the first payment without a hitch.
I have read many people use addresses such as Starbucks addresses and setup US Paypal accounts so maybe this is what you can try to access Netflix, Hulu or any of the other companies in the USA that provide streaming tv/video.
Yeah--they do that. This is the passive billing which is pervasive in the US (they hope you forget about it and take your money--gyms are notorious for this). Don't worry, they won't charge your card before the free period is done. Just remember to cancel.
What they do is they put a pre authorization on the card. It is sort of a reservation--they do the same when you rent a car. It is to make sure that there are enough funds on the card and to make sure they get the authorization later.
Mabrouk.
Netflix is nice it's like TV but without having to research and record the stuff that you like, and with much more nice stuff and less crap than TV.
Technically it is good but you need a good connection too.
Hows streaming on 2 Mbps connection? does it allow you to choose resolution types upon streaming a Movie? Because the only limitation to NetFlix would be the available connection speed that we have...
Lots of people excited by this. Not sure why though, is no one aware that there are hundreds and hundreds of websites that stream all this content already? Just install Adblock Plus on Chrome and boom.
we are exited because our country is starting to receive new technologies i hope we get paypal too. Second of all we all used those websites at some point but netflix is legal , easier to watch on tv with a group of friends, better quality then most of the others witch are recorded in cinemas on cameras .
any new improvement to this country is more than welcome and will be treated with alot of excitement.
