Hi Brothers and Sisters,

I am very new to PreText.  Any help would be very appreciated.

I typed the following command in my (Linux) shell

xsltproc /path/to/mathbook/xsl/pretext-html.xsl /path/to/quickstart.xml

And then I got the following error message:

~$ xsltproc /path/to/mathbook/xsl/pretext-html.xsl /path/to/quickstart.xml

warning: failed to load external entity "/path/to/mathbook/xsl/pretext-html.xsl"

cannot parse /path/to/mathbook/xsl/pretext-html.xsl

I am using CoCalc, and I have both quickstart.xml and mathbook directory in the same home directory.

Not sure what this means… Any idea on how to fix this error?

Thank you for your help in advance!!!

/path/to

means

the path to quickstart.xml

For me that means

/Users/farmer/Publishing/MBX/mathbook/doc/guide/introduction

For you, it will be different.

"path" means "filesystem path". This may or may not help:

https://www.redhat.com/sysadmin/navigating-linux-filesystem

Once you understand, please please try to figure out how the
documentation could be better. Because soon you will forget
how you did not know what "path" means.

Regards,

David
