Does anyone have experience troubleshooting our books on Safari?

I have two students who having trouble because many of the WeBWorK problems are not loading correctly.

They showed me their computers and it's quite strange, because the book didn't even display correctly. It seems like they have different CSS, and different colour schemes for elements like buttons.

I don't know how to access menus on a Mac (and they didn't either) so I couldn't figure out how to open a developer console.

I've asked them to send screenshots and will update as I get more information.
In the meantime I've asked them to try another browser.

I’m a few Safari/iOS versions behind so this may be outdated, but:

On Safari if you open the settings (command-comma or under the Safari menu), one of the tabs is called “Advanced”. In that tab the last option is “show features for web developers”. If you check that, then a new settings tab called “Developer” is created, and also a main menu called “Develop” appears between “Bookmarks” and “Window”, and it has the standard options like “Web inspector” and “Javascript Console” etc. Each one of these should bring up the familiar “developer tools” section.

Bottom line: Safari likely has a checkbox that is off by default, which would make the dev options appear.
