Hi,

Is there an FAQ for this group? If so, where is it?

As a beginner I regularly have "How do I do that?" style questions which I'm sure have been asked and answered many times. I'm very uncomfortable asking them and taking up the developers' time.

There are two:

https://pretextbook.org/doc/guide/html/faq.html

and

https://pretextbook.org/faq.html

The second is shorter and is linked on the left from

https://pretextbook.org/

Probably those should be the same, and expanded.

And three, a publisher FAQ.

https://pretextbook.org/doc/guide/html/publisher-faq.html

The one that is not part of the Guide (at the website) has been abandoned (maybe
it should point to the other two?).

I'm not sure these have exactly what Bud is after. The "Basics" part of the
Guide attempts to answer the "how do I do that?" question, but maybe is not so
much about best practices, or style?

And the Anotated version of the Sample Article shows the actual XML that
achieves certain constructions.

@Bud - I think there are quite a few experienced authors in this forum who would
be happy to answer your questions.

Thanks. I think I was vaguely aware of two of them, and completely unaware of the third.

I've made the Author and Publisher FAQ's from the Guide easier to reference.
And any content from the website FAQ is now redundant.

But the automated build of the actual website pages is also broken, so it'll be
a while before that page directs to the Guide.
