Mostly for Alex, I'm guessing.

Is the answer-checking and display behavior in Checkpoint 2.2.6 in the webwork sample chapter Section 2.2: Subject Area Templates what's expected?

Namely, that only the first entry gets colored red or green and gets an information box next to it after checking answers.

I think that could be pretty confusing to students, since if the first entry is correct but there's an error somewhere else, the first entry is what gets colored red and has the box saying "Incorrect."

Is there a different way to write the problem that would change that behavior, besides making a tabular with separate answer inputs for each entry?

Thank you,
Chrissy

While still using WeBWorK 2.17, there's nothing that can be done about
this. It's only with the most recent version of WeBWorK that these
kinds of grouped answer inputs get associated with some HTML element,
usually a div surrounding all the inputs. And once that HTML element
can be identified, then the feedback button goes there.

It's on me to complete and submit the upgrades so that PTX can use
WeBWorK 2.19. As the weeks and months go by, something keeps coming up
and I don't have time for PTX development. Maybe over winter break I
can get that done. Even then, I won't want to upgrade the Runestone
WeBWorK server to 2.19 without substantial testing in coordination
with Brad.

Keep your source the way you have it and this will get better.

Thanks for your quick response!

I've been trying to write in the PreTeXt source because that seems like the better way of doing things.

I'm looking in the Guide, and the webwork sample chapter. I may have stalked some of Sean's books, too. :-) Are there other places I can look for examples to copy, paste, and modify? Basically, do you (or Sean, or anyone) know what projects have used webwork in PreTeXt source? Or is there something else I should be looking at for info or examples?

Thank you,
Chrissy

The 3rd edition of ORCCA (so far, just part 1 out of 3 is live) can be
seen here:
https://spot.pcc.edu/math/orcca/ed3/html/frontmatter.html
Source files on the "edition" branch here:
https://github.com/PCCMathSAC/orcca

But...
* I'm using things here and there that are from WeBWorK 2.19.
* I don't always have the GitHub repo up to date with local evolution.
* The way we manage this book, we do not want the divisional exercises
to be something you can "Activate". All the exercises you will find
here are WeBWorK, and for Part I at least they are *all* coded in the
PTX source. But you will only see static versions if you follow the
link above to the HTML. What the exercises actually do when live, and
how they behave with scoring, can only be seen at present by using
those exercises within a WW course. I don't have a Runestone version
built (where even the divisional exercises would be live) and I would
not expect that to work until I get PTX and Runestone caught up to
understand WW 2.19).
