Hello!!

I'm looking to add some custom CSS, mostly in the form of colors but there might be a few SMALL stylistic changes we do in the future should the need arise.

I see from the guide (thanks to Steven Clontz for the correct link!) that specifying new CSS files with the publication file will overwrite the default file. Is there a way to specify my own CSS file with a few changes? (For example we just want to slightly adjust the blue color from they blue_grey theme.) If this is not possible, I can definitely copy the blue_grey file and make my changes.

In either case, where should I put my new css file(s) in the file hierarchy for PreTeXt to recognize them?

Thank you for your help and please let me know if I can clarify my questions!

I think you should consider this as an unsupported option,
and anything you do could end up going haywire in the future.

I'll say it differently: if you need help doing this, then it is a bad
idea and you probably should not try doing it at this time.

It would be nice to provide better support, but this has not risen
to the top of the priority list.

Furthermore, looming is a fairly major change in how the CSS files
are structured, so even if you know what you are doing, waiting for
a couple weeks would be prudent.

David

Maybe I was unclear previously.

There is no official way to customize PreTeXt CSS, and probably
there never will be. LaTeX makes it easy for anyone to implement any
style they wish. This is viewed as a problem by most of the core
PreTeXt developers, because the result is a lot of bad style.

Of course, some people know enough to make their own custom CSS.
This forum is not the place to learn how to do that.

David
