In a #worksheet, if one structures an #exercise with #task, the page breaking algorithm will break the page between tasks if necessary. However, this doesn’t seem to happen if you have an #exercisegroup that contains a bunch of #exercise. We spotted this in a big worksheet conversion project here at UW. It’s not problematic for the worksheets in question to be coded using exercise/task instead of exercisegroup/exercise, but I thought I would flag this behavior in case changes can be made to allow the page breaking algorithm to break pages between exercises that are children of an #exercisegroup.

I'm not surprised this doesn't work.  One issue with getting it to work is that exercise groups can be printed in multiple columns.  So we would need to think about how that interacts with page breaking.

Aha. I hadn’t thought about the columns aspect. I will tell the team working on these to use exercise/task for most of these but note that exercisegroup could have column layout, which may be useful for some short things like computing derivatives and the like.
