I noticed this while making the previous post about matching problems.

When using the Salem theme (which we were instructed to use for PROTEUS), there is a font size mismatch on mobile, at least with Chrome. MathJax fonts are half the size of regular text.
I don't see this in a recent HTML build using the default theme.

This is taken from the page

It looks like a Runestone login is required to view the book, but here is a screenshot.

Sean -

I can't reproduce this screenshot.

What platform did you use? What device (tablet/phone)? What version of chrome? (That looks like a firefox logo...)

I get this using Chrome on Android.
The Firefox logo is in the task bar because I wanted to see if it happened there also, but then I got stuck because I don't have a Runestone login saved on Firefox.

To get that screenshot on Chrome, I went to runestone.academy, accessed the APEXPROTEUS book via the library, and navigated to the section on related rates.

Interestingly, if I click the direct link above while in the Gmail app, I don't see the problem with font size, but the width of the videos is about twice the screen width.

Here is what I see clicking the link in Gmail.
This is weird, because I'm certain that the browser in Gmail is just chrome.

Hang on...

Now I see what's going on: for some reason, Chrome had the "desktop site" setting checked off.

I think I did this once because you can't browse the Runestone library on the mobile version of the site (or at least, I couldn't figure out how to do it).

Apparently that setting persists across anything that's on Runestone.

If I uncheck "desktop site" I see the same thing as in Gmail.

That appears to be a MathJax issue. I see it for not just all PreTeXt themes, but also for MathJax demos:

Hopefully I'm the only one dumb enough to view a PreTeXt book on mobile with "desktop mode" turned on.

That said, I got to this point because something is broken on the Runestone landing page for mobile devices. I'll report that over on the discord
