pythontutor uncaught assertion failure

I was attempting to play with the pythontutor example at

But I don't think it's working, and there is a console error:

After reading an [SO post](https://stackoverflow.com/questions/18251128/why-am-i-suddenly-getting-a-blocked-loading-mixed-active-content-issue-in-fire), I thought it could be as simple as changing

to

https://pythontutor.com/build/pytutor-embed.bundle.js?cc25af72af

(add the 's')

So I tried that and rebuilt the sample article. I got a CORS error if I tried to open it locally, so I put it up here:

[Side note: there seem to be no permalinks for Listings.]

Now it still doesn't work. Firefox says I have a console error:

Uncaught Assertion Failure

And Chrome says something similar.

Now I'm not sure where to take things.

Aah, good to know where *that* has been coming from. (I've seen it on the
*entire* sample article built as a single web page for testing, but had not
chased it down.)

Also unsure what to do. Python Tutor has never been very well behaved. I think
Brad uses it for Runestone. Maybe he knows the root cause?

What if everything it working properly, but there is a bug in the
code somewhere that is triggering line 4436 in pytutor-embed.bundle.js ?

Can you replace "happy" by another example and see what happens?
(I could not see where happy came from, so I was not able to test
this myself.)
