Asymptote bug (it's weird)

Recently we updated the Asymptote command used by the pretext script.
The now-obsolete '-iconify' option was replaced by '-offscreen'.
This enables asymptote generation for anyone using GitHub codespaces. Great!
Before changing, I tested the updated command on both Windows and Ubuntu, using several different versions of Asymptote.
This week, I discovered that not all is well on Pop!_OS: the '-offscreen' option is being read as '-o ffscreen' for versions 3.11 and earlier.
This obviously breaks the pretext script, since none of the files get the correct name.
Mea culpa, I guess, although I'm hoping the Asymptote crowd can explain what's going on.
I'll go back and see if I can reproduce this in Ubuntu. If not, maybe something is weird with my laptop.
Not sure what to suggest in the meantime. Changing back breaks codespaces. Nobody else complained so I'm hoping this is a 'just me' problem for now.

Anyone making use of 3D Asymptote might want to consider upgrading to the latest version (3.13).
The change to Vulkan rendering has advantages. But installing with this feature enabled can be non-trivial...

A long battle with my assistant to clean this up. Asymptote always has
"-iconify" but "-offscreen" has come and gone. Finally got it to check all 147
versions of Asymptote. ;-)

I'm planning to check this tomorrow when I'm more awake.
Given the effort it took for me to get Asymptote 3.13 working on my System 76 laptop, I'm not sure I want to revert to an older version to test this out!

I pulled the latest and ran the pretext script. With 3.13 I was able to build everything with no errors.

Testing now on my Runestone server, which still runs Asymptote 2.87.
Hit an error the first time around, because I haven't generated QR codes.
I admit I didn't think that Asymptote generation would need to look for YouTube QR codes, but apparently it does! Trying again once QR codes are built.

Building asymptote to PDF is failing using pretext/pretext with Asymptote 2.87.
The script runs all right, but returns "The asymptote output ______ was not built" (fill in blank with appropriate file path).
Ahhh... but this is because I'm doing it on a headless server -- same issue we ran into on Codespaces: with no GPU or GUI, Asymptote tries to open a display, fails, and exits.
The correct command is being used, so I think we can at least conclude that the update to the build script is correct: the -offscreen option was only used for 3.13, while -iconify was used for 2.87.
Fortunately I don't need to build to PDF on Runestone, so this isn't a problem for me. Anyone else building PDF is hopefully either on codespaces (where Oscar can provide a recent Asymptote) or on their local machine (where Asymptote can open a display).
