The @permid attribute was conceived to support various experiments. Mostly
(entirely?) with HTML output. Those experiments have ended with a no permanent
need for @permid.

So I have a branch removing all uses of it. I'm not aware of any other
developers to consult. But in any case, this is a call to speak up if you rely
on @permid for some reason.

Note: this is not asking for responses from authors who have @permid in their
projects' source. More on that later in the right group.
