The top level page of this book uses a non schema compliant technique to get an image to appear:


Would there be any concerns if I added this as a publication file feature? We have somewhat similar things for a PDF cover page and an epub cover page. This one would need different publisher attention to the image dimensions, and developer attention to CSS across themes.

Yes, cover images have been considered for PDF, EPUB, etc. and is a bit of a mess.

So I will put it onto my list to harmonize all this. Well, already on my list.
I'll move it up.

Your suggestion for HTML is to place it on the summary page for #frontmatter?
How about an #article (no such thing?). Or chunk level 0?
