Matching links no longer visible in dark mode

There appears to have been some redesign of the appearance for matching problems (the type where we draw connections, not cardsort).

In light mode, things look OK, but in dark mode, it is not possible to see the connections.

Light and dark screenshots attached. For a live version, it is necessary to access via Runestone.

To be fair to Brad, the root cause of this issue is PTX trying to force a white background behind SVGs to account for the high likelihood that authored SVGs will not handle dark mode (or other non-white backgrounds) well.

There is an easy immediate fix, but I'll try to look into being more restrictive about when we try to force a white background as a backstop for transparent SVGs.

Well, to be fair to somebody, I wasn't *blaming* Brad. ;-)

I was just relaying what little I knew, and pre-empting the inevitable: "What
changed?!?!"

Are those paths/connections SVGs then?

I've still got 10 days until my semester begins, so I can wait for a longer fix. 

But there are probably fall classes underway that might soon be in need of the immediate fix.
