(Cross-posting to pretext-announce, but this only affects a few developers, I
think. Just trying to insure visibility.)

Shortly I will merge

If you have a CLAUDE.md file since you develop with Claude, then you will need
to know/do the following before your next pull. This seems to apply equally
well to any AGENTS.md files you might have, but the solution will vary. For
example, moving to ~/.codex/AGENTS.md is the solution for Codex. Short version:
back-up anything you might have constructed along these lines.

----

This PR adds a tracked CLAUDE.md at the root of the
PreTeXt main repository.

If you keep your own CLAUDE.md there, then BEFORE your
next pull:

mv CLAUDE.md CLAUDE.local.md

and remove any CLAUDE.md line from .git/info/exclude.

Otherwise git silently overwrites an ignored file, or
refuses the pull for one that is merely untracked.

Claude Code still reads CLAUDE.local.md, now in .gitignore.
