The PreTeXt website has undergone a significant overhaul. This has cleaned up a
lot of hacked-up material that has built up over the years, and allowed some new
initiatives to proceed.

In order to make a clean break and a thorough overhaul, a lot of
non-mission-critical content has gone missing. This falls into three categories:

A. Temporarily missing, simply as a convenience, and due to come back very soon.

B. Gone, and needs a long-term commitment from maintainers for its return.

C. Out-of-date, or no longer applicable, or cruft, and so gone for good.

Immediate deadline is the start of the US Joint Mathematics Meeting on January 3
and an attendant effort to spread the word.

Please report immediately any really bad things you see, that need to be fixed
before JMM, like dead links or missing content. (The Gallery and Catalog are a
bit shabby, we are working on it.)

If there are content areas you think are very important to get back sooner
rather than later, please say so (clearly). I'll open threads on "pretext-dev"
(preferable) and on "pretext-support".

Bonus: all the content and tools to build the site are now public in a GitHub
repository. You know, in light of the project's bus number. Bonus bonus: pull
requests welcome!

Many thanks to Oscar for the gentle nudging, setting up the infrastructure, and
continuing participation in the overhaul. And thanks, too, for entertaining my
perverse appreciation for the Ralph Steadman-esque theme.

Rob and Oscar
