I have Creative Suite so can use any of the programs but not sure which one to use. Is it just one or do I need to use multiple. If so where can I find tutorials for how to do this, I am a newbie for this purpose.

I too am interested in this question. For the exports out there who have created slideshows, which tool provides the most flexibility. I have tried in Lightroom, and though it may be easier it is quite restrictive. I wanted to place text in a certain spot, it limits me to where I can place text, and it is not consistently placed on each slide.

Would Encore, Premiere or After Effects be better tools to do what Michelle requested in her initial post, while providing the greatest flexibility to do different things on each slide, yet not require a Ph.D. to learn to use the tool.

Premiere Pro is also a fantastic video editing program but cutting together large amounts of video is it's main focus. After Effects can still do excellent video editing but it is better suited than Premiere Pro for creating presentations.

Of the non-Adobe products, I would say that Fotomagico is the easiest to learn. For Windows there's also iSkySoft but I haven't tried it: iSkysoft Slideshow Maker: Make amazing photo videos in seconds.

You could make a simple slideshow in the Photoshop Video timeline and with a bit of work add titles and a premade soundtrack. However, it is much more effective to use the right tool for the job so , I would use Premiere Pro for compilation , transitions, music and voice over. I would then use After effects only for any sections where specific effects were needed that were not available in Premiere Pro.

I currently have access to Lightroom, After Effects, Premiere (Pro and Elements), Encore, Movavi Video Suite and Photoshop. I like that you have ultimate flexibility in After Effects, but after watching some video courses on Lynda, it seems like a very complicated tool to learn for my purpose. Yet Movavi has the similar constraints as Pr. Elements where it allows pan/zoom but is sometimes limiting.

Right now, I might just create a simple slideshow in Lightroom and edit/embellish it Movavi and Premiere Pro. I dunno, feeling a bit frustrated as one tool has a steep learning curve and the other is overly simplistic.

If your intention is to use Premiere to embelish it, I would just start in Premiere. Set up your required video format then import your images as clips and drop them onto the timeline. You can adjust the lengths and transitions for each clip easily and zoom/ pan around the image to introduce a bit of movement to the video.

For those of us who use Adobe CC products however, the pricing may not be as troubling since we typically want high quality, professional grade tools and are willing to pay a premium - Photopia looks, at least preliminarily, like it may fit that description.

As a former user of ProShow Producer, the high-end version from Photodex. I can say that it appears that the developers of Photopia are taking the design and features of ProShow to the next level. They do include a demo video created using their Director version on their homepage and it is extremely impressive.

I am personally wrestling a bit with the cost of the Director version (that I would want) however I'd love to hear what the rest of you think after checking it out. I am still waiting for the Mac version before I use my free trial, however if you use both Windows and Mac, they say you can use the same account for BOTH versions. Please share your first impressions if you either try it or end up subscribing.

**NOTE** Their website address above IS correct...they are using a new .nl suffix in their domain name. I have not seen an address like this before so I thought it might be helpful to some to reassure that it is correct.

I was in a rush to put sometihng together a bit more ambitious than a slide show. I chose, yes, Adobe Rush and it is doing the job that I needed. No frills though, but you can mix video and photos, lay music tracks and create reasonable title sequences. Minimum learning time and good training videos. David.

I insert photos in every e-mail we send (we are an event florist). Sometimes I have to create a collage on another site then upload it because the layouts in Constant Contact don't allow for cohesive photo sharing!! Would love an option to insert a photo collage or slideshow to showcase our floral designs Thanks for the consideration!:smileywink:

Thanks for the feedback everyone! We're going through the process of updating the statuses of all our ideas in hopes of making it more clear where features stand in the product pipeline. There are no immediate plans in the works for this, but we recognize and have done some preliminary research into this request. We found that many of our customers were already using Canva to create their graphics, which influenced the decision for the Canva integration. This should make it easy to create and use collages, but we're still open to feedback on whether this is enough or if there should be more exploration of a feature like this. Please continue to comment and provide any use cases that would be helpful.

I just thought you will be needing a photo viewer and an editing program? If you do, then you may want checking this PhotoViewerPro that I use for my photo collage. It has an advance features that works great.

In regard to the comment from SarahD637 it's interesting that the moderator thinks it necessary to block the name of the CC competitor that offers the composite photo gallery option. What is the purpose of this?

Windows Slideshow will show the images in a slideshow but only the present ones at that time, what I need is the slideshow to add the extra images when they have been added to the folder it references to.

My Test Slideshow has 96 images. With the Classic Theme I can shorten the duration to 2:18 minutes, if I set the duration of the transitions to a "fast" speed. With the slowest transitions, the minimum duration will be 6:08 minutes, and I can extend the duration with the custom slider to 49 minutes. But I have to remove the background music, or the duration will just be the time the music plays.

But for a theme with more animation, you cannot control the duration of the transitions, only the length of the slideshow in total with the custom slider. For "Vintage Prints" I can vary the duration between 4:05 minutes and 76:06 minutes, but not faster than 4:05 as a minimum length. If I try to enter a smaller number, outside of the slider range, it will instantly revert back, because the transitions need some time.

I'm creating a slideshow project in the Photos app. I can see 2 options in the Music library, but I wanted to be able to add tracks from my Amazon Music Collection. Is this possible or would anyone know how to transfer them across.

I need to create a slideshow from a folder containing 60 photos with each picture displaying its filename. Can this be done? It can be through the Photos app or the Preview app.
I know this is a big ask, but I really have no idea how to do this. Thankful for any help.

The issue here is not making a slideshow, the issue is automatically creating a slideshow that includes the filename of each photo on the photo, as if you were adding a caption or title to the photo manually. I could do this manually, but I have several thousand of photos I need to do this process on, 60 photos at a time, each time creating one slideshow.

Graphic Converter can do a slideshow from a folder of files and automatically put the filenames on for you -- it's a long time since I've used it, so I don't know what formatting/positioning options you have.

Graphic Converter, Photoshop -- and probably others -- can be scripted to process all your images files, compositing the name directly onto the image or resizing the canvas and adding the name above/below. You could even do that in KM with a combination of the "Modify Image" action using the "Add Margins" option plus the "Composite onto image" action. You'd then make your slideshows from those modified images.

What you do will depend on what you have available (or are willing to buy!), how you are going to present the files (sending them to other people means you can't guarantee the viewing software), how much control you want over text formatting and placement, etc.

Is there a way to change text fonts in Photo slideshow? I used to be able to get around it in iphoto by pasting in text written in a word doc but the new photo app won't let me do it. It just converts everything to the boring lucinda white text. Any ideas? Also be great to be able to shift where the text sits in the slide show depending on coloring in a photo. I would have thought the new photo app would give you more options, very frustrating.

I am very new to Proclaim. I have imported 32 pictures for an image slideshow. The pictures do not fill each page of the slide and I see the checkered "vector" style background. I can click on each individual picture and choose a background. How do I copy this for all of the other pictures? I plan to add more pictures and am hoping I will not have to manually edit each background.
