Preston City of Sanctuary Annual General Meeting

Tuesday 3rd December (1-3:30pm)

at Douglas Hall, St Cuthberts Church, Lytham Road, Preston PR2.

We look forward to welcoming you to our AGM where our key note speaker is Reham Abuolwan from Preston City Council. Reham is the key employee with responsibility for supporting refugees and asylum seekers in the city. She has a wealth of experience, including lived experience alongside an academic background in relation to the needs and challenges faced by sanctuary seekers. Reham will share some of her experiences and discuss her role at Preston City Council, in particular she will outline the strategy that will guide her work in Preston to achieve the best possible outcomes for sanctuary seekers living in the city.

The AGM will also provide an opportunity to find out more about the work of Preston City of Sanctuary including the important role that the recently formed Experts by Experience Group are contributing to our work. It will also be a chance to network and update each other about activities and projects of member organisations.

The formal business of the AGM includes electing / appointing officers and core group members for the coming year, and presenting brief reports of the year's activities. We are always looking for energetic, committed, skilled and knowledgeable, especially Sanctuary seekers who are experts by experience, to strengthen and broaden the governance of the organisation. If you would like to nominate someone, or volunteer yourself for these roles you can do this at the AGM in person, or if your are not able to attend  by emailing us in advance of the meeting.

We hope to see you there

Many thanks,

Greg Smith – on behalf of

Preston City of Sanctuary Team
