Two events this spring on the theme of volunteering in the sanctuary sector.

[Preston City of Sanctuary]

PCOS in Partnership with Preston Volunteers is organising two events this spring on the theme of volunteering in the sanctuary sector.

Event 1 (Monday May 11th 2pm - 4pm  Douglas Hall, St Cuthberts Church ) is aimed at volunteer managers, and VCFS / community groups that wish to take on asylum seekers and refugees. The aim is to share experience and good practice so that placements can be well organised and maximise the benefit and positive relationship for both organisation and volunteers.

Event 2 (in Refugee week )

Tuesday June 16  1.30pm to 6 pm . Nothumbria Hall  St Cuthberts Church ) is a volunteering fair aiming to bring together potential volunteers (both sanctuary seekers, and committed supporters from the local community). It will be a drop in event seeking to match volunteers with opportunities - we have described it as "speed dating for volunteering".
