A reminder our AGM takes place on Thursday from 1.30pm at St Cuthberts Church Lytham Road PR2 3AR.  Please note we will be meeting in the Northumbria Rooms rather than the Douglas Hall as advertised earlier. This is because the British Red Cross drop in will be using the Douglas hall for their annual Christmas party and lunch and will need the Douglas Hall until about 2.30. However they have issued a wide invitation to anyone working in the asylum and refugee sector and if you want to turn up early and drop to join their celebrations there you will be made welcome.

We are hoping many of you will be able to join us at our annual meeting. Our guest speaker Gisela Renolds will encourage us by sharing what has been achieved in Lancaster.

The meeting will also include some formal business of receiving reports and appointing officers for the coming year. We are looking for additional people to join our core group. Nominations can be made at the meeting.

You can read our annual report for 2025 by clicking on this link https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Z6heIZtwwo2zGlb5ixy1u3rWc2SL8qjW/view?usp=

Also please see below information about an exciting new course in which Preston City of Sanctuary has made a big contribution and is featured as a case study of good practice.

Many thanks,

Subject Invitation to William Temple Foundation New Online Course: 19 Jan-6 Feb 2026

Hi Greg,

I hope you are well. We have been promoting the course on social media, but I am also sending more direct emails this week. It will be great if you could share the information below with your contacts and people you think might be interested in signing up.

This January we are launching a new online course: ‘Hospitality, Vulnerability, Resilience: An Introduction to Working with Refugees and People with Lived Experience’.
We would like to offer a 25% EARLY REGISTRATION DISCOUNT to groups and individuals interested in exploring faith-based, humanitarian and practical approaches to hospitality, social action and collaboration.
The short course offers collaborative training and a space for reflection for those supporting and empowering sanctuary seekers and volunteers in today's context of increased hostility and uncertainty.
For more information about the course and how to register, please click on the link below:
When registering, please add the promo code: INVITE25
This code is valid for two weeks: 4 Dec-18 Dec 2025.
Thank you and best regards,
Katya
