A most senior journalist and pioneer of Urdu journalism in UK Mr. Habib ur Rehman passed away today in London. He suffered health complication for the last few years due to a chronic heart condition.
He was a man who was more close to his friends who he always regarded closely despite many that betrayed and disappointed him. He was articulate in the Urdu language and had the command of a poet yet the presentation of a politician. He lived for his work and was driven to succeed having started originally with The Jang offices in Rawalpindi in its infancy in 1957. He had an acumen for networking with people and as well as writing his own witty columns and managing which is the role he pursued for most his working life achieving notable recognition and admiration globally.
In 1962 with the start of family he migrated to the United Kingdom and after a few months he had already established his first newspaper "The Asia" which became a moderate success in the heart of the large contingent Pakistani community based in Midlands. He was one of the pioneers started The Jang newspaper in London during the early 1970’s. He always spoke and wrote the truth  in his usual frank inimitable style which often would give those in the political and public eye an adverse interpretation. A certain Maulana Kausar Niazi was the recipient of such an article upon which he had to face a litigation case and declared bankrupt. He later briefly worked for the Mushriq London, then the Nawai Waqt London. He had been a regular columnist of The Daily Pakistan and Daily Khabrain. He joined The Daily Ausaf London as the resident Editor in 2003.
Habib Ur Rahman born 17 October 1932 died 5 September 2011, leaves a Wife and 5 Children (3 sons Amar, Tahir, Samar and 2 daughters Tahira and Amira)
May Allah shower his blessings on him.

MAY ALLAH KAREEM BLESS HIS SOUL WITH ETERNAL PEACE AND GRANT HIS FAMILY COURAGE & PATIENCE TO BEAR THIS IRREPARABLE LOSS, AMEEN.

HABIBUR REHAMAN , ( "CHAPTA"  WE USED TO CALL HIM )  , WAS ONE OF THE  FINEST AND A VERY WELL-BEHAVED JOURNALIST OF HIS TIME, WAS FAMOUS FOR HIS BRAVERY, COURAGE AND HONESTY.  TO THE BEST OF MY KNOWLEDGE, HE WAS ORIGINALY FROM HYDERABAD (DN) INDIA.

I REMEMBER HIS MEETING SOME TIME IN 1962,  IN NAWA-E-WAT OFFICE, LAHORE,  WITH HABIBULLAH AAUG AND  (LATE)- MAKEEN AHSAN KALEEM. ----- ( THE TOP MOST JOURNALISTS OF THEIR TIME  ---- THE MEN BEHIND THE GUN  (NIZAMIs) WHO USED TO WRITE EDITORIALS, ARTICLES  AND COMMENTS  FOR THE AND ON BEHALF  OF THE EDITOR )  WHO WERE ADVISING HABIBUR REHMAN TO SLOW DOWN IN HIS WRITINGS AND HE WAS LISTENING TO THEM AS AN OBEDIENT YOUNG STUDENT !. ALL GREAT GOOD PEOPLE THEY WERE !!
