کیا عورت مارچ میں فرانس کا پرچم لہرایا گیا؟  پی این پی فیکٹ چیک

اسلام آباد (9 مارچ 2021) ہر سال کی طرح رواں برس پاکستان میں عورت مارچ میڈیا کی دلچسپی کا محور بننے میں کامیاب ہوگیا، تاہم سوشل میڈیا سمیت مختلف حلقوں میں عورت مارچ کے موقع پر فرانس کا پرچم لہرانے کو تنقید کا نشانہ بنایا جاتا رہا، سوشل میڈیا صارفین نے فرانس میں حالیہ بلاسفیمی اقدامات کے تناظر میں عورت مارچ میں فرنچ جھنڈا لہرانے کو غیرملکی ایجنڈے کا حصہ قرار دیا، ناقدین کا کہنا تھا کہ عورت مارچ کے اخراجات فرانس کی طرف سے اسپانسر کیے گیے، تاہم پی این پی فیکٹ چیک نے اپنی تحقیقاتی رپورٹ میں فرانس کا پرچم لہرانے کی خبروں کو بے بنیاد قرار دیتے ہوئے کہا ہے کہ عورت مارچ کے موقع پر لہرایا جانے والا جھنڈا فرانس کے قومی پرچم سے مشابہت ضرور رکھتا تھا لیکن اسے فرنچ پرچم قرار نہیں دیا جاسکتا، پی این پی فیکٹ کے مطابق فرانس کے پرچم کا رنگ بائیں جانب سے نیلا، سفید اور سرخ ہے جبکہ عورت مارچ کے موقع پر لہرایا جانے والا جھنڈا بائیں جانب سے سرخ، سفید اور جامنی رنگ کا تھا، دوسری طرف عورت مارچ میں شریک خواتین کا کہنا تھا کہ لہرایا جانے والا جھنڈا درحقیقت پاکستانی خواتین کے حقوق کیلئے سرگرم وومن ڈیموکریٹک فرنٹ پاکستان سے منسوب ہے۔

PNP FactCheck debunks news about waving of French flag during Aurat March

Islamabad (March 9, 2021) Like every year, Aurat March has once again succeeded to become the focus of Pakistani media. However, the alleged hoisting of the French flag by some Pakistani women activists on the occasion of recently-held Aurat March has been widely criticized in various circles. 

In the wake of recent blasphemy acts in France, Pakistani social media users were of the view that the Aurat March is a French government sponsored activity. According to some critics, the presence of the national flag of France is an undeniable proof that the march is funded by France, and there are foreign elements behind to defame the real image of Pakistani women.

However, PNP FactCheck, in its report, has debunked all news reports and rumors of hoisting French flag on the occasion of Aurat March, organized by Pakistani women activists. PNP FactCheck, an initiative by the Press Network of Pakistan (PNP), is an independent unit to verify, debunk and refute fake news, propaganda and other disinformation about events in Pakistan being circulated in the media. 

According to PNP FactCheck, the national flag of France consists of three colored strips, blue, white and red, starting from the left side. Contrary to this, the flag waved by Pakistani women was having red, white and purple colored strips, which were starting from left to right side. On the occasion of Aurat March, some women participants also emphasized that the waved flag in fact belongs to Women Democratic Front Pakistan.

"There can be similarity among both flags but calling it the national flag of France is totally fabricated and baseless claim," PNP FactCheck concluded.
