Hey everyone, I'm working on a vehicle that has LED bulbs installed in the low beams. The customer has a message on the dash stating the low beams are out. Chrysler uses a voltage sensing circuit in the Body Control Module to determine if there is an open or short.

We currently have codes: B162A-18 and B162E-18 for headlights under current detected. The brand of LED bulbs is Lasfit. We used the Lasfit website and found that in the event of flickering or error messages on the dash the RD9005 should be purchased to eliminate this issue.

We installed the LED decoder RD9005 in between the factory harness and the bulb, this did not work. I called the Lasfit company and they said the RD9005 is designed to remove Hyperflash only even though their website says different. Lasfit said that I would need to purchase the CB9006 decoder. This is supposed to work SPECIFICALLY on Chrysler and will remove the error message from the dash. Needless to say this was purchased installed and the message still remains on the dash.
