Exportsphotos as JPEGs converted to and tagged as sRGB with maximum quality, no scaling, and a resolution of 240 pixels per inch. By default, this preset saves the exported files to the Files On CD/DVD destination specified at the top of the Export dialog box, in a subfolder named Lightroom Classic Burned Exports.

Exports photos to the hard drive as sRGB JPEG files. Exported photos have a maximum size of 640 pixels (width or height), medium quality, and a resolution of 72 pixels per inch. Upon completion, Lightroom Classic shows the photos in the Explorer (Windows) or the Finder (Mac OS). Choose the destination folder after you click Export.

You can export photos using the same settingsfrom the most recent export session that was set manually, includingmodified presets. Otherwise, the Export With Previous command doesnot work with export presets.

You can put any item in the Export Actionsfolder that can be opened with a set of photo files. For example, you can place an executable file or shortcut (Windows), or applicationor alias (Mac OS) in the Export Actions folder. Items addedto the folder are listed in the After Export menu of the Exportdialog box the next time you export photos.

Lightroom Classic supports plug-ins from third parties that add functionality to the Export dialog box. Depending on what third-party plug-ins you have installed, different options may be available in the Export dialog box. Check with the plug-in developer for support or documentation for their software.

I'm using Lightroom CC (on Mac, High Sierra 10.13.6). Today I created my first preset, and I followed a tutorial on how to save my custom preset (Click the + button in the top corner to the Preset sidebar, name the preset, name a new folder for my presets, 'select all' to ensure that all tweaks are included). However, nothing happened. There wasn't an error code, my preset just didn't appear in the Preset sidebar. I restarted Lightroom to see if it would only appear after a reboot, I went and checked the Preset folder in my Library to see if I could see the preset there. Nope, nothing.

Also, I've downloaded a few preset packs in the past from various bloggers and photographers, and while I was hunting in the Preset Library folder for my preset, I deleted a few packs that I never use, while I was there. I expected on restarting Lightroom to see that these deleted presets would have disappeared from the Preset sidebar, but they're still there, and still useable. I double-checked the folder from which I deleted the presets, and I'm sure that I haven't saved the presets in a second location.

What version? Things changed with version 7.3 onwards. You may be looking at the old presets location, where the .lrtemplate presets were stored. Deleting these will do nothing because they have been converted to .xmp presets and are now stored in a different place. Adding .xmp presets to the old folder will also do nothing. The correct location:

Sounds like you are using Lightroom desktop (formerly known as Lightroom CC and also sometimes known as 'Lightroom cloudy'). That version used to store presets locally, but that changed. Presets are now stored in the cloud. A copy of your old presets may still be in that old local folder, but adding or deleting presets there does not do anything anymore. You have to manage the presets from within the application.

Lightroom Classic v10.1

Just updated today, but yesterday I tryed with couple versions earlier and the same is happening... Got the subscription yesterday and I'm still fighting with this preset thing...

Learning how to save a preset in Lightroom is crucial for digital photographers. It saves time and ensures a consistent style in a photo series. This benefits every style of photography, from wedding to landscape to street photography.

Today, we teach you how to create, use, and save your presets in Adobe Lightroom. By the end of our article, you will know how to create, set, and edit pre-made presets. So, read on to learn more about this useful technique.

In our article, we refer to Lightroom as Lightroom CC to differentiate it from Lightroom Classic. Although similar, these two Lightroom versions have different approaches, interfaces, and extra features.

Lightroom also provides its users with a wide range of preinstalled presets. A few of these presets are called Adaptive Presets. Using AI, these unique presets detect elements like a subject, portrait, or sky. The AI then applies the preset to these specific elements only.

Presets are most helpful when you have shot a big batch of images on the same day under similar shooting conditions. They are also helpful for creating your signature style. After your preset is applied, you can fine-tune each edit.

Both versions let you set the preset with a general slider. This slider ranges from 0 to 200. The preset examples are set at 100. This means you can immediately increase or decrease the preset intensity.

In Lightroom Classic, the main Presets panel is in the Develop section, clearly positioned in the left-hand panel. If it is not there, click on Windows > Panels > Presets in the top menu so they are shown.

In Lightroom CC, the Presets panel is an icon along the right-hand toolbar. The icon looks like two circles slightly overlapping, like a Venn diagram. You can also click View > Presets in the top panel.

The Recommended section is unique to Lightroom CC. This section features a range of specific presets picked by an AI readout of your image! These recommendations are displayed in thumbnails, but you can still hover to see the effect in full size.

The two Lightroom versions have different approaches to setting your preset parameters. Lightroom Classic clearly lays out your options. You simply tick all the relevant fields you want to copy over (first image below).

The Select drop-down lets you choose what you want to be preselected. The Modified option is great as it only selects the adjustments you have touched. Lightroom CC also lets you copy over masks, a feature not found in Lightroom Classic.

You can choose the group your preset is filed into. It is set to be in User Presets, which is normally best. But you can create your own group if you like. Click Save at the bottom, and you now have your custom Lightroom preset!

In Lightroom Classic, you can apply presets in the Library panel. To do so, select the relevant photos you want to edit. Use Command or Ctrl+Click to pick particular images and Shift or Alt+Click to pick all pictures between your first and last photograph.

Lightroom CC does not let you edit in any viewing mode other than its Detail View (D). So, to copy over your settings, you must switch to the normal editing view (View > Detail). Then, apply the preset and any other edits to the first image.

Click the Copy Edit Settings button below the filmstrip. Then, select the photos from the filmstrip to which you want to apply the same preset. The same button will have changed to Paste Edit Settings. Click this and the same adjustments will be applied to all your images.

Using Lightroom presets can be a godsend for many photographic genres. It is particularly useful for photographers who edit big batches of images. Now, you can send a big batch of photos to a client with preliminary editing before you go into more detail.

I have a number of presets I have saved from the LR Discover recommendations which I have investigated through my web browser. I thought these should sync with my desktop Classic version but they do not, although they appear on my LR Mobile version. Is there something I am missing here or am I doing something wrong?

Install Lightroom desktop too. Presets (and profiles) do not sync between the cloud and Lightroom Classic. If you right-click on a preset in Lightroom desktop, you can export it. Then you can import it into Lightroom Classic.

What I was referring to was opening up my synced collections on the web by clicking on the link in the Help menu item from Classic on my desktop. This shows me a wide range of presets I could use. If I save one it then appears in LR mobile. I naively assumed it would also save it back to Classic on my desktop.

Just had an email from Adobe that showed two free presets I would like to save. When I open the preset from the email it goes to a Discover article opened in Safari. From there I choose "Open in app" which it does and there is a "Save as preset" button, but, nothing seems to be saved. It is not in Lightroom not in the downloads folder. Am I missing something?

I had the same issue and spent close to an hour chatting with an Adobe agent. They were super helpful, but it boils down to that you have to install Lightroom CC in addition to your already installed Lightroom Classic. The presets will Save to Lightroom CC under the "Yours category" , and you then have to Export them from there...... and then Import them into Lightroom Classic ?!?! Make it make sense please Adobe! That's crazy. If you want to offer the presets that way, fine..... but PLEASE also offer a Download Preset button directly on the Discover articles that you send us, which we could immediately import into Lightroom Classic without needing 2 versions of Lightroom installed and a million extra steps - it's just crazy.
