I have been searching over the past week for a solution to re-install my original F1 99-02 challenge game. Although it's old, it has worked since I bought it back in 2002 on all three of my computers (the current one has Vista 64 bit OS). It worked well until last week, and have no idea why it stopped working. Coincidently, Tiger Woods 08 also stopped working, but I uninstalled and reinstalled that one and its back to normal, although I have lost all history so starting as a novice again. I have reloaded the F1 program numerous times (more than 10) over these past 7 days, but although it loads successfully, it will not play. I have tried running it from the cd, the shortcut and the exec file in the loaded program. I've changed the compatibility and ticked the administrators box (at least that's stopped popping up) but still get nothing. The cd player does not talk to the hard drive, no green light flashing. I have even changed to 250 colour and have been successful because the screen actually changes to flashing colours before going black then back to desktop, but I see this as progress! Any help would be gratefully appreciated.
There is nothing official from EA and from what I hear, the "XP Compatibility Mode" in Win-10 is terrible. However, there has been a community of gamers continuing to promote this game with independent mods of various kinds. I didn't check out any of the links that Google came up with, but it seems that there may still be people playing it:
