I have a 'smart' security camera (linked below). It works fine, however play back through the app is a pain. I want to download the video from the SD card for back up and for easy playback, however they are in a strange file format. The folder tree look like this:
I have a similar cheap wifi camera ("LSC Smart Connect Indoor-IP Camera" from Action) which also uses a .data file format to store the files on a SD card. After some digging it turned out I was simply able to convert the files using ffmpeg.
I have a geeni camera, it stores the recordings in .data files. If I copy them to my pc and change the extension to .mp4 I can view the video in MPC (media player classic). However, I can't fast forward or use the slide bar to jump ahead. Looks like I need a commercial editor to import the raw data and create a manipulatable file.

By the way - if you're not able to see your xCam2 cameras on your Touchscreen but can see them in the apps, there is a good chance that the cameras are paired to your private in-home WiFi, while your Touchscreen may be paired with the hidden Xfinity Home SSID being broadcast by your Gateway or Security Router. ONVIF I think you have to pay to be in the group from what I read. That will put the camera at $75 if they did. The camera still has flaw and people are doing mod to them. I want to change the mic out to get better sound. I have it point to mountains 25 mile away and would like to see if changing out the lens will I be able to see the Tv antenna someday. We recommend formatting the card as soon as you insert it into the camera. You will usually be prompted to do this, but if not, there is generally an option in the settings. Just remember, formatting will wipe anything on the microSD card, so back up the contents first.
