If the password is not recovered with a free check, you will be offered a paid option to try a 20+ billion passwords database check. This is our "nuclear weapon," and a search through such a huge database may take up to 24 hours, depending on the file version and our computing cluster workload. Your chances to recover the password successfully are about 61% in this case.

If you already know the password to the archive, it is simple. Actually, you can't remove password protection from an already protected Zip archive with WinZip program. But you can extract archive to a folder, and then add all files to a new Zip archive without a password.

By using the service provided at LostMyPass.com you agree that you are not violating any laws or regulations on copyright or privacy issues that exist in your country and community by doing so. Furthermore, you guarantee that you are the holder of the copyright for the document you intend to recover or that you are using the recovery service for and on behalf of the copyright holder.

In my web app I need user to enter meetingId and meeting password (which for both there is no copy button in the zoom desktop), so to make it easier for user I want to let user copy paste the whole zoom meeting url, then I extract meetingId and password from Url, meetingId is straight forward, password seems to be hashed. I tried base64, and double base64, seems not to correct.

As it looks like this is related to the Zoom Desktop App, I recommend reaching out via our Feedback Form or reaching out to our Customer Support Team to submit a feature request. Those channels will make sure the feature request is sent to the right team.

Unfortunately, we are unable to respond to your open tickets at this time. We encourage you to leverage our Online Resources. If you are a part of a corporate account, and need advanced technical support beyond our Online Resources, please contact your Zoom account administrators.

Note: I am really, really aware of what this means, security wise. I also understand that the user is supposed to be the master of their passwords and do not trust the server.
Everyone is fine with me having access to all passwords, there is no malicious or creepy intent here.

Why I ask the question: I am a typical 24/7/365 online, all-encompassing computer support for my family (this includes setting up the time on the oven) so I would like to simplify my life. And yes, I really understand the security implications.

That was the second option (second bullet in the post) in the solutions I thought about so far. Unfortunately it is not possible AFAIK to force someone to store their passwords in an organization. And knowing my family, there will be a 50% success in the implementation

Well, that last one could be a feature request.
Somewhere in my memory it is stored that i have seen it somewhere.
But it is not within the main bitwarden_rs code maybe i have seen it in some fork.

Yes I know but this is not sustainable for my usecase. It is really oriented to a complete trust kind of support, where the users are not computer litterate. This is why I why I need to cover all the bases, this is the case for instance with nextcloud where I can control all their files and back them up accordingly (and email, etc.)

I accidentally cleaned my Chrome passwords with some 3rd party software (yes I know - Im a genius!). I've never synced the passwords online. Still it seems that the data exists in "Login Data" file ( %LocalAppData%\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Login Data ). The good thing is that Im still on this machine and windows profile so I have the credentials and key to decrypt files with CryptProtectData (that's what I understood from other topics). This was the major issue when other people had similar question - they didn't have access to their original Chrome and Windows profile where the "Login Data" file came from.

I've read other topics on this matter but still cannot figure it out (Im NOT a developer). I cannot code but I understand some of it. I don't have servers installed, Im not on linux so please try to not paste line of codes in python for the answer.

Hack-browser-data is an open-source tool that could help you decrypt data ( passwordsbookmarkscookieshistory ) from the browser. It supports the most popular browsers on the market and runs on Windows, macOS and Linux. This will decrupt Your Passwords and will store them in a simple .CSV fil

I password protect all of my sensitive and financial PDF documents. The downloaded PDF Chase Bank statements are already password protected and can't be modified. To get around this, I print the docs using "Microsoft Print to PDF" option. The new generated doc allows me to a add my password.

I can save the chase bank statements. However, I am unable to combine statements into one document. It states it is password protected. However, I do not know the password. Even if I save them using the Microsoft Print to PDF, I am unable to merge. Any thoughts?

We can't help you. The bank decided to password-protect the files, which also prevents them from being merged (unless you use a Portfolio). They are not likely to give you the password to allow removing the security policy, as that would defeat the entire purpose of applying it in the first place. It's possible they don't even know it themselves, if it's randomly generated.

The print and save work around does not work with these pdf's. The only one that seems to work is the Microsoft Print to PDF. The bigger problem I'm having is that it affected all my existing Chase pdf's. None of my other pdf's have a problem, only Chase's.

Yeah but did you see what it does to the file size-10x the original bloated download size. And Portfolio doesn't work without the password...... I need to merge for several accounts for CPA submittal. I cannot combine by year or extract irrelevant pages to try and get a reasonable file size. Very frustrating. At this point I would save time just printing and scanning. Chase needs to stop the nanny-state control of your own documents. Ridiculous.

Had the same problem but solved it using "Microsoft Print to PDF" option. Even called Chase and asked how to unprotect and what the password was. Agent I spoke with said they don't password protect the statements, was probably an Adobe problem. LOL! Thanks for the tip.

I downloaded a series of Chase bank statements and purchased PDF converter subscription. I then converted them (24 files) to Excel files on 08/22/2023 without issue. Today, 09/27/2023, I downloaded a new statement and got the error that the file was password protected. I then went back and tried to convert some of the files that I previously converted and got the same error message. Another post explained they contacted Chase and they were not password protecting these files.

I am surprised that Adobe would not have a fix for this or be working on a fix. Before purchasing the Adobe converter, I was copy / paste the statements into Excel and wrote a macro to align / format the columns; hence my own converter.

Not going to get into all of this again (the files are very likely protected, despite what they told you; Adobe will not export data from a protected file), but the real solution to all of this is to ask your bank to provide the data in a spreadsheet, not a PDF file.

I've got myself into a bit of a pickle and could really use your collective wisdom. I've been locked out of my Windows 10 computer (yeah, I know, should've written down the password) and I'm scratching my head on how to get back in. Has anyone here been through this and managed to reset their password without being able to log in?

I've seen a few methods online involving bootable USB drives and using command prompts, but I'm not super tech-savvy and a bit hesitant to dive into something that seems so complex. I'm looking for a more straightforward, beginner-friendly way to reset my password and get back to my files.

[Edit] A few folks asked me if the problem was solved? Yes. The password was reset with the help of Passcue Windows Password Recovery software. Thanks Jack888 for the recommendation!

Once, I also encountered a situation where I forgot Windows 10 password of local account. I was really a little panicked at that time. After all, all the important files were in that account. I remember that I really didn't want to use those complicated technical means at that time, and wondered if there was a simple way to solve it.
