Checkthe router's manual or specifications: The router's manual should list any VPN protocols the router supports. If you don't have the manual, you can usually find it online by searching for the router's model number.
Look for the VPN client settings: If your router supports VPN, it will have a VPN client settings page in its configuration. This page will allow you to configure the VPN settings, such as the VPN server address and the VPN protocol.

There are multiple ways to set up your ExpressVPN router. You can connect your ExpressVPN router to another Wi-Fi network, to an Ethernet switch, or have it as part of a mesh network. You can also use it with Wi-Fi extenders, and even daisy-chain multiple ExpressVPN routers. Learn more.
By default, all devices connected to your router are protected by the VPN. If you want some devices not to use the VPN or receive an internet connection, you can use the Device Group feature to create a new device group without VPN protection or the internet and assign devices to it. Learn more.
Every device has a default MAC address used by routers to identify it on a network. If it uses a randomized MAC address instead of the default one, this might cause it to appear more than once on your router dashboard. Learn more.
It is currently not possible to set up a separate guest Wi-Fi network. In the meantime, you can use the Device Groups feature which allows you to create a new group and assign your guests to it. Note that all the device groups are still connected to the same local network. Learn more.
Yes, the Network Lock feature is built into your Aircove. If your VPN drops, Network Lock is activated to disable all internet traffic. This protects your IP address and other sensitive information from being exposed. When your VPN connection is restored, your secure internet access resumes. Network Lock cannot be turned off manually on Aircove.
Access
expressvpnrouter.com in a web browser on any device connected to the router. Go to Network Settings > Wi-Fi Settings. From there, you can change your settings such as the network name, password, channel, WPA3 security, and visibility. Learn more about how to choose the optimal Wi-Fi settings.
By default, your ExpressVPN router will automatically install any available updates daily at 4 a.m. If you want to update your router manually, you can download the latest firmware from
expressvpn.com/latest#router. After that, go to your router dashboard, then navigate to Advanced Settings > Software Update to install the firmware. Learn more.
You can power Aircove Go with a USB Power Delivery (PB) power bank but as Aircove Go does not support the PD protocol, your power bank will need to supply 5V at 3A. For the best performance we recommend using Aircove Go with its supplied power adapter.
There are many different brands and models of power banks on the market, and they can vary in their quality and performance. As such, if the first power bank you try does not seem to work as expected, we suggest trying a different one.
Note: We recommend dedicating the power bank to only the Aircove Go. Some power banks may briefly disconnect all connected devices when you connect a new device to it, which would force a reboot of the Aircove Go.
From your router dashboard, go to Network Settings > Internet Settings, and select Static IP as your connection protocol. Learn more about static IPs and other ways to connect to your internet service provider.
I have been running ExpressVPN successfully on my Nighthawk AC1750 - R6700v3 for the past year. I will be switching to BitDefender and would like to have the original firmware installed back on the Nighthawk. I had no luck returning it to its original firmware via the ExpressVPN instructions so I did some research and tried it via TFTP. These are the instructions I followed -do-I-upload-firmware-to-my-NETGEAR-router-using-TFTP-on-Apple-m...
The R6700v3 never had a blinking orange light when I got to that step on the above link. The light would stay orange for a couple minutes and then the lights would go to there normal white light. I tried hitting enter during the orange phase right when you plug the routers power back in and I got a meassage timed out message. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
ExpressVPN wasn't any help as they tried to take me through all the steps on their website but did tell me that this is a known issue to them. Wait, if I use your software I can't revert it back?!? Anyways is there a way to get a copy of the orginal firmware on this router or find out what it was as that is possibly the issue(I did try multiple versions of the firmware on the netgear site to test)?
As far as I'm aware they don't have a community forum like this and I have already talked with support there and they don't have an answer but did tell me this is a known issue with no actual solution after they ran me through everything I have already tried.
"can't" is not a useful problem description. It does not say what
you did. It does not say what happened when you did it. As usual,
showing actual actions (commands) with their actual results (error
messages, LED indicators, ...) can be more helpful than vague
descriptions or interpretations.

@antinode thank you for being so nice and requesting deeper information about my problem. Cant means that router webpage interface is not opening, no answering, tried on Mozilla, Chrome and Safari. Routerlogin.net is not responding, 10.0.0.1 is not responding.
Yes, I spoke with expressVPN support and they said that Ill not be able to acccess my original router interface after I upload expressVPN FW. It didnt say before uploading, I would think twice or do adjustment that I need.
Just bought a Linksys WRT3200ACM on Ebay and when booted I see screens for ExpressVPN Router. Even as a noob, I assume this is custom firmware that was sold preinstalled on this router by this ExpressVPN company? The system status page shows OpenWRT Chaos Calmer 15.05.1 r49389/LuCl for-15.05 branch (git-16.206.66468-6f5c486), whatever all that means.
In any event, I'd like to update it to the latest 18.06 release and use it with my own VPN provider (Private Internet Access). I'm also looking forward to trying WIreguard as soon as PIA supports it, and other stuff like VLAN and Policy Based Routing. So finally the question: Can I just download the correct v18.06.4 image for this router and flash it from within the existing ExpressVPN Router firmware? It has a utility for this on System tab. Or, do I need to do something more geeky and do some sort of factory reset and wipe out the existing OpenWRT firmware? Thanks....
Given it is a OpenWrt derivative... maybe
Since you have two partitions, and can get back to the current one with the power switch, things are usually easy.
Try a flash without keeping settings, might need to use Force.
If not, you may have to get geeky with it.
... and you might want to try the power switch to the other partition before
doing anything else, just to see.
Thanks anomeome! I tried the alternate power switch boot and it booted fine into the Linksys OEM partition. Then I went back to the other partition, disabled the keep settings checkbox, and loaded the upgrade image file then clicked flash. Very fast update and it loaded perfectly. Now I need to go back and find the tutorials on basic setups before I get ahead of myself. But I'm off and running and I thank you for the advice!
I have a Linksys WRT3200ACM router with VPN Express installed on it that I would also like to run in this setup. Can anyone help me in my configuration? I've tried connecting the setup in the following orders but each time the ER605 disconnects from the setup. The goal is to have most of the traffic on the home network run through this VPN to encrypt the traffic. ExpressVPN offers split tunneling which I would like to keep intact if possible. The ExpressVPN firmware has no means of turning off DHCP that I am able to find. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
2. As you want it all to be in one subnet, you actually could add wg to lan zone too, this will make your local network accessable without additional settungs, but as you use commercial vpn, it is ok to have own zone.
4. So you are saying to turn on DHCP in OpenWRT? Will the VLANs I have set in Omada still work? I know the VLANs in Omada have the DHCP option. I don't understand what is meant by this "3,192.168.1.1 for gateway, 6,192.168.1.1,192.168.2.1,.... for dns".
5. I didn't set up any special routes. The VPN shows as disconnected because I took the screenshots while only connected to the router LAN and no WAN. The VPN does work but I had to revert my network back to full working condition for the family.
Can I add ExpressVPN (or similar) router based VPN to either of the mentioned? I'd like to avoid the purchase of a router with ExpressVPN already added or any of the brands that are mentioned to be formattable for VPN. I like the G1100 or the G3100 because they seem quite easily managed (MoCA etc) regardless of the Internet branding. I use the G1100 currently behind my 'owned' modem with Comcast/Xfinity.
