Bookworm is a puzzle game where you have to create words with the letter tiles in the field. Click on adjacent letters to form words and score points. @herbnancy Ah, sorry. To take it offline there are a few things to try, but the simplest are to just unplug the cable or turn off the router if you use wifi. You can do it through Windows too, but it's easier to just go for the direct low-tech version

I unplugged the cable and tried Bookworm Deluxe. The game I played the previous time was saved and it asked me if I wanted to continue play, so I continued play, saved the game, and quit. When I went back to the game, it still came up to the same place as before, asking me if I wanted to update it. When I clicked Yes, it could not find anything because the internet was off. When I tried to play the game, it gave me the same fatal error message as before.

@herbnancy Thank you for the update, that at least shows it's not an online issue. I'd try a different tack and see if there could be an issue with your system files. This is normally a pretty drastic step, but it's also worth checking that your core system files are fine intermittently anyway.
