Indonesia is recognized as a country actively engaged in mitigating
climate change and the Government has made an ambitious commitment of reducing
greenhouse gas emissions by 29 percent by 2030. Recognizing that strong forest governance is a cornerstone to achieve this target and in partnership with
the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, UNDP has been supporting the Forest
Governance Index and Forest Governance Assessment, which provide an analysis on
the progress of reforms in the forest governance sector.
With UNDP’s assistance, the 2015 Forest
Governance Assessment has been prepared, which corresponds to an interim
report in-between the issuance of the Forest Governance Index produced every
two years. This
assessment focuses on the progress of reforms in issues such as forest
boundaries, transparency of permit licensing, law enforcement and resources
allocation to communities. It is based on contributions from 40 prominent
forestry experts and 20 private sector representatives.
We would like to cordially invite you to the UNDP Dialogue Series that
will launch the report and present its main findings. This event will take
place on 26th April 2016 in
the Papua Room, 7th Floor, UNDP Office, Menara
Thamrin Building from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Please find enclosed the
agenda. We hope that you will be able to participate and
would highly appreciate it if you could kindly confirm your attendance to teukuram...@yahoo.com or
