I'm currently a final year student majoring in Human Resource Management and is quite interested in the projects you have here.
However, I would like to know more about the new sewing project that u have in place, like the the stuffs that we need to do to help set it up so that i can gauge the commitments that i need to have in place to join.

Hi guys,
NTU SIFE (Students in Free Enterprise) is embarking on not one, but TWO New Exciting Projects and they are recruiting members to be part of the pioneering team and lead the projects to great heights.
A) Consulting Project with Aii (愛)
Organisation Info:
愛 conceptualizes lovely decorated candy packaged as gifts and favors, personalized hampers, beautiful candy tables and interesting goody and gift bags for corporate functions, parties, weddings, product launches and many more! '愛 ' hopes to share the philosophy, love and passion by organizing various bonding activities and workshops on how to decorate desserts or create a special gift for that someone special. '愛 ' participates in corporate lunch time bazaars to allow more people to interact with our hearing impaired staff to reduce the misconceptions towards them and for our staff to showcase their capabilities.
Project Info
Currently, Aii has 8 employees and makes around $20,000 in monthly sales revenue (http://aii.sg/articles/st1001.png). The challenge the company faces is the next step of growth.
Proposed Scope:
- To review existing business model, value proposition, customer segments, channel & marketing, operations, key activities, resources and partnerships, and financial performance
- To make recommendations on each of the following, in stages
- To plan the strategy of the company, from mission, vision, value downwards, using a strategy map and balanced scorecard to articulate a 3 year plan
- To put in place management structures and systems that will help the company scale and achieve it's next stage of growth.
B) Sewing Project
This project aims to empower the low-income homemakers through commercializing their sewing skills. They will turn the sewing machines in Family Service Centers or Community Centers to working stations for clothes alteration. The homemakers will provide clothes alteration services to the neighborhood. Besides the additional income the homemakers are getting, there will also be trainings and workshops on sewing skills and fashion design. This working experience at the FSC working stations serves as the on-the-job training. The long term plan would be to enable each homemaker to set up a clothes alteration workroom at their own houses.
Value Proposition: To bring lower price (affordability) clothes alteration services to every neighborhood (convenience) in Singapore.
Initial Phases
The pilot batch of homemakers will come from PPIS West who have already gone through their Home Programme on sewing skills training. The room of sewing machines at PPIS will be turned into a clothes alteration shop. The homemakers will provide clothes alteration service there and this is the on-the-job training. With the money they have earned from the on-the-job training and additional funding from partners, homemakers will purchase a sewing machine (S$250 to S$2,000) and provide clothes alteration service from their own houses.
Our vision is to revolutionalize the way sewing is done currently to allow for alteration services to be readily available and accessible to everyone in Singapore.
