Hi there,
a team of final year students from NTU's Wee Kim Wee School of Communication has recently launched a campaign, ad.vo.ca.se (pronounced advocacy), aimed at raising awareness of social enterprises (SE) among youths and young adults in Singapore.
Not sure what social enterprises are? You're not alone. The lack of awareness of the SE scene is just one of many problems the social entrepreneurs face. The campaign will be bringing to you 2 events in early March. Join us in making a difference in our local SE scene.
For a fun and interesting way of getting to know the SE scene:1. On the 1st of March, immerse yourselves in an interactive carnival-museum, titled Vi.bran.se, at The Ground Theatre in *SCAPE. Be treated to a myriad of experiences, from artisanal ice-cream to tasting edible plants straight off the wall. Order drinks through sign language, create simple latte art, get creative at the fashion photobooth, and more! Join us as we also bring to you 2 sneak previews of upcoming collections by jewellery brand Saught and apparel line Project Overturned Closet. Tickets are at $7, group buys are at $5 each!:) Buy your tickets at http://bit.ly/1k3pmIU
For a deeper look into some of the challenges that plague the SE scene:2. On the 8th of March, gather in teams of 4-6 with youths aged 18-25 and join us in a 12-hour brainstorming challenge - Li.te.ra.se. Come together with some of the brightest minds in the country to solve pressing issues in the local social enterprise scene. Roving experts from the sector will also be there to help provide guidance and mentorship. Throw us your most innovative solutions and stand a chance to win prizes up to $4000! What's more? The best team will also be sponsored to attend the DBS-Hub Social Enterprise Boot Camp 2014 to further their movement with social enterprises. Register now at http://bit.ly/1nI6gYY
More information on the events can be found in the attachments or visit our dynamic website www.advocase.sg"Like" us on Facebook to stay tuned for updates! www.facebook.com/advocasesg"
Thanks and the team hopes to hear from you soon!

The other event is a 12-hour challenge/competition open to students in teams of 4-6. For the competition, they will have to tackle real-life challenges faced by social enterprises. Prior to event, we will be preparing the participants by providing a briefing and a toolkit for them to get acquainted with the industry background before they arrive for the competition and begin their brainstorming. Students will get to benefit from the expertise of our panel guests, who are either successful social entrepreneurs or a professional contributor in the industry.
