Hello,

So you guys have any more ideas on canvassing? If not I think we can ask GG and Wen Hao about selling cookbooks and the laptop sleeves. Need to submit our idea to NTUSU by this Friday.

Aside to Nicholas: Could you come up with a write-up on our booth ideas first? You can adapt from the previous proposal to Enactus SG and include the relevant ideas that we discussed (e.g. the display board, mirror decals etc). Then after we finalize the canvassing idea we will add in after that.

Thanks,
Xianzhe

Dear President,

Thank you for participating in Open House 2014. Attached is a copy of the MOU that your club’s representative has signed. Please note that this signed agreement indicates your participation in the Open House.

As mentioned in the previous meeting, please submit your final proposal on your information booth by 8 Feb 2014. In your proposal, please indicate as much details about the activities that are going on at your booth on the day itself. Do indicate if you require additional tables at your booth in the proposal.

As mentioned during our meeting, clubs who do not show up on the actual day of event will face consequences meted out by School Affairs Office (SAO).

The booths will be set up and ready for decoration on 7 March, morning. Also, the information booths have to be ready at 9am on the day of event. Tearing down of booths will begin only at 6.30pm.

Below are the details on the information booth. Kindly take note of the change in size of your booth.

Size of booth: 3m by 2.5m

Furniture:

Please take note that all booths will be allocated a 13-amp socket outlet at their information booth. In your proposal, please indicate the activities that require power consumption at your booth so that we can ensure that sufficient electricity is provided to the booth.

Image of booth:

NOTE: Only the middle AO-sized suspender board can be used for the pinning up of items using thumb tack or pins. Only tapes and Blu Tack can be used on the panels at each side of the AO-sized suspender board.

Kindly note that the mirror decal on mirrors of toilets is not approved by the school office, hence it cannot be used. As for canvassing, please send in your club’s canvassing idea so that we can apply licenses if necessary.

Do also email us a short write-up on the activities at your booth. The emcees will be using this write-up to describe your booth and divert the crowd to your booth on the actual day.

If you have further enquiries about your booth, feel free to contact us via this email.

Thank You!

Can we PLEASEEE ALSO have the Stationary Idea.

The Idea
To sell stationary that people can donate to poor kids in Cambodia (this coming Dec).
After we donate the stationary to them, we will then send them a picture of the kid that we donated the stationary to. So that they know we have done it and the donators see that their efforts are done.

It's low cost at high profits!! And there is little reason why people will not buy it?

Why this is better than Cookbooks and Laptop Sleeves
1. Cookbooks
If you already have a cookbook, why buy GG cookbook.
if you have internet, why buy a cookbook?
Moreover, the people who come for Open House are students. Not housewives, so not many are interested in cooking.

2. Laptop Sleeves
If you already have a laptop sleeve, will you want to buy another one?
If the laptop sleeve is of a different size, you cant even buy the laptop sleeve even if you want to.

3. Both Cookbooks and Laptop sleeve cost more compared to stationary ($1 OR $2)
Based on past experiences, cookbooks and laptop sleeves do NOT sell well. We tried it for so long and we still have unsold stock at the end of the day.

So all I'm asking is that we ALSO sell STATIONARY. This is in addition to selling cookbooks and laptop sleeves.

If Enactus Club funds is a priority, this is a more definitive way to address it. For your kind consideration.
Thanks guys! :)

Yours Sincerely,

Lol Sam. Haha I totally understand your point. Stationery will definitely sell better than cookbooks and laptop sleeve. But do you mean we are going to keep the difference between the actual cost of the stationery and what they donate? (Meaning we don't use all the money collected to buy stationery).

Yup! Correct!
The justification is that this is part of administrative expenses, opportunity cost and to fundraise for the trip in Dec itself.

Sounds reasonable. If you are confident the school will be good with this justification then I'm ok with the idea. Did we do this last time as well?
