Hi Janice and Xianzhe

I would like to introduce you to Jared Sia, who was a consultant on one of our past projects and would need help with the implementation. We hope that Enactus would be able to help us and take this on as a project for the next cycle. We have approach WSC but their volunteers response or take up rate has not been very positive.

Background

In 2013, SAVH approached Conjunct Consulting to help tackle the problem of high unemployment rates among the visually handicapped by suggesting a new social business. At the end of the semester, my team and I presented our recommendations to SAVH. SAVH is delighted with our recommendations, however they face a lack of manpower, energy and drive to push through the implementation of a new social business.

The social business is an youth enrichment  and development company, where teams of 5 visually handicapped will go down to schools to conduct a lesson on empathy and adversity quotient. Leveraging on the visually handicap's experiences and wisdom, our team believes that students would be able to be impacted at a more personal level. This is a win-win situation for the visually handicapped as they can now have a source of income and also a purpose in life. The entire detailed business plan, implementation plan and lesson plan has already been done up and is attached. 

Proposal
We would like to propose this as a new project under Enactus to help with the setting up of the new social business. This includes:
1) Assisting Mr Leow (Client) in setting up the business
2) Assist with the day-to-day operations of the business after it is set up
3) Participate in a start-up competition to win grants of up to $50,000 which will help SAVH a lot financially.

Current Updates
Currently Jared and SAVH are in the process of applying for the grant and we have come up with a jobs and responsibilities to be executed.

It is tentative though but it provides an overview of the responsibilities that interested parties can indicate interest for.

Jared would continue to be involve on the project and we believe that Enactus is aligned in our interest in delivering maximum social impact to the social sector and I would be glad to meet up with Enactus so that we can further discuss how we can collaborate with each other.
