Mary Wessel-Walker (of the Community Farm Kitchen) is teaming up with
Rena Basch of Locavorious and Kris of Old Pine Farm to do a winter CSA
of *prepared* foods. Mary takes meats from Old Pine Farm and veggies
from Locavorious to prepare entrees of homanely-raised, local foods.
The CSA runs for 4 months and is $1200 - which might be a bargain if
it really keeps our household from eating out 8-10 times a month (or
20 times, since the meals serve 4). Ok, I don't eat out 20 times a
month, but you get the idea... Details of the CSA are at
http://www.communityfarmkitchen.com/winter/ .

I really want to try this, but I'm not quite ready to spend $1200 on
something that just might not be a good "fit" for my household. Would
anyone like to split a share with me? I was thinking, if I can find 3
other people to go in with, we can each pay $300 and each house takes
one month of the share. We can all see if this is something we'd like
to do in the future, and in the meantime, we're supporting all these
brave food entrepreneurs in our area! I would ask for full payment up
front, so we can just have Mary dealing with one share, and we'd each
be responsible for picking up our shares during "our" months.

Any takers?

I'd be in if it was $300. Any more wouldn't be prudent for our
budget.

The only thing is that I don't eat pork for religious reasons...my
husband does, but if it's a lot of pork then it wouldn't be worth
it....

Let me know!
