The Kansas Historic Preservation Office (SHPO), a department of the Kansas Historical Society, a state agency, has four open positions now seeking applicants. Please share widely!

K0093382 Certified Local Government Grants ManagerState of Kansas | Position Description

This is a permanent, benefit eligible position that serves as the state Certified Local Government coordinator and Historic Preservation Fund grants manager in the Cultural Resources Division at the Kansas Historic Society. Duties including conducting annual grant rounds, monitoring subgrant projects, completing annual application to the National Park Service, and making regular contact with the state’s 17 CLGs. K0245175 Tax Credit ReviewerState of Kansas | Position Description

Reviews applications received through the state and federal historic tax credit programs.  Works with applicants and their architects/consultants/contractors to complete the application process. Reviews applications to ensure that properties qualify for the tax incentive programs. Verifies that properties are certified historic structures and that the rehabilitation projects will meet the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for Rehabilitation as well as other requirements of the state and federal programs.

K0245174 Tax Credit ClerkState of Kansas | Position Description

This is a permanent, benefit eligible half-time position that serves as an administrative clerk in State Historic Preservation Office. This person will work within a team processing applications to state and federal historic tax credit programs. Tasks will include accurately inputting data from incoming applications, reviewing applications to verify completeness, maintaining project files and directing customers to online resources. K0068644 Review & Compliance Archeologist (Historic Preservation Specialist II) | State of Kansas | Position Description

This position is responsible for timely reviews of projects in accordance with state and federal laws for the protection of historic properties; educates public and government officials about protective laws; reviews projects submitted by property owners, federal and state agencies and local governments through the Kansas Review & Compliance system and analyzes their potential to affect the state’s archeological resources; reviews and evaluates reports for conformance with the Kansas SHPO’s Guide to Archeological Survey, Assessment and Reports.
