Douglas County - Heritage Conservation Council Program Coordinator

Douglas County is accepting applications for a full-time Heritage Conservation Council Program Coordinator.

 

The Heritage Conservation Council Program Coordinator will be responsible for staffing and providing technical assistance to the 7 members of the Heritage Conservation Council. Duties will include compiling materials for the Council agendas, recording minutes from Council meetings, managing all aspects of the Douglas County Natural & Cultural Heritage Conservation Grant Program and the HCC's Barn Assessment Grant Program, answering questions from the public about the Grant Programs, researching and making recommendations to the Council regarding natural and cultural conservation policies, coordinating public meetings and conferences, working closely with historic preservation and natural conservation professionals and consultants, writing and reporting on federal grants in support of the HCC's work, managing the HCC's annual budget, ensuring that Douglas County is in compliance with Certified Local Government requirements and performing other duties as necessary.

 

Associate's degree and two to three years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university and four to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred. Applicants must be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Experience with grant administration is strongly desired. Attention to detail and strong oral and written communication skills required. This position requires a flexible schedule, including attendance at evening meetings.
