Applications for the 2014 round of Heritage Trust Fund grants are now available online at http://www.kshs.org/p/heritage-trust-fund/14617.
The Heritage Trust Fund (HTF) is a competitive grant program that provides matching funds for the preservation of properties listed in the National Register of Historic Places or the Register of Historic Kansas Places. The HTF program reimburses expenses for projects that preserve or restore historic properties. Qualifying expenses include professional fees and construction costs. Properties owned by the state or federal governments are not eligible, but those owned by local governments, private individuals, non-profit, and for-profit entities qualify. Individual grant awards may not exceed $90,000 and must be matched by the grant recipient.
You may also request application materials by contacting cultural_resources@kshs.org or 785-272-8681, ext. 240.
Preliminary applications may be submitted by August 31, 2013 if applicants would like HTF staff comments. Final applications are due November 1, 2013.
Informational grant workshops are held throughout the summer at various locations across the state to provide applicants with step-by-step instruction on filling out the HTF grant application. The schedule for this summer is available at http://www.kshs.org/p/heritage-trust-fund-workshops/14609 or see the attached flyer.
Contact us to request a list of previously awarded projects, to reserve space at one of the informational summer workshops, or to add your information to our contact list for future grant rounds.
Sincerely,
Katrina Ringler
