Thank you for this announcement. It made me think to reply with two items:

 

1. If you weren’t already aware, I wanted to make sure you knew about a listserv/Google Group we host called Preserving Kansas.  You can find a link to past posts and you can enter your email address to subscribe via https://www.kshs.org/p/preserving-kansas-listserv/14646.  There are a few hundred subscribers in the Group. Folks can post anything preservation related including questions, calls for bids, grant announcements, etc.
   
   
2. Do you mind if I post this announcement to the Preserving Kansas group?  I know this is a county-wide grant, but there are likely to be folks in the group who will either have project ideas for Douglas County or will know someone else you would be interested.  If you’d like to subscribe and then post it yourself, you do that by sending the post to preservi...@googlegroups.com.  Let me know either way.

You are receiving this email because you have interacted with or requested information from the Douglas County Kansas Heritage Conservation Council. 

 

The Heritage Conservation Council is excited to announce that we are now accepting applications for the 2023 Natural and Cultural Heritage Conservation Grant Program. Up to $210,000 in funding is available this year for natural and cultural conservation projects in Douglas County that secure the benefits of our heritage for present and future generations. For 2023, an additional $75,000 is available for projects that help inform Douglas County's development of an Open Space plan. Applications will be submitted online and are due by 5 p.m. on May 4.

If you are interested in learning more about the 2023 Natural and Cultural Heritage Conservation Grant Program, there will be an information session from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 28, at the Lawrence Public Library in Meeting Room C. No registration is required. You are not required to attend to be eligible to apply for a grant.
