Applications for the 2026 Preserving Black Churches (PBC) grant program are now open from the National Grants Program of the African American Cultural Heritage Action Fund at the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
Grants range from $50,000 - $500,000 and support capital projects, project planning, programing and interpretation, preservation endowments, and organizational capacity at historically Black churches across the country. Both churches with active congregations and non-active congregations (churches that have been repurposed for other uses) are eligible sites. Eligible applicants include churches, public agencies, and 501c3 non-profits.
Please review grant guidelines for additional details. Applications are due September 12, 2025.
