Dear members of the Preserve Colorado Network

The ACHP is attempting to develop a policy statement on the challenges and opportunities facing the National Historic Preservation program at 50.  After circulating a draft to ACHP Members, they are now seeking broader comments with a deadline of March 1, 2016. Please see the email from John Fowler, ACHP Executive Director, below.

Please take the time to visit their website http://www.achp.gov/ to review their policy statement and give them feedback.

Feel free to comment individually or collectively – and you are welcome to distribute this far and wide.

Subject: Posting of Preservation 50 Challenges and Opportunities Statement

I am pleased to advise you that the ACHP website (http://www.achp.gov/) now has the invitation for public comment on the challenges and opportunities statement developed as part of the ACHP’s effort on public policy recommendations in improve the national historic preservation program.  The introductory web item leads you to the statement, which has been revised to reflect member comments. Please note that the statement is not a final document, but rather is designed to stimulate reactions and comments. We will include a final version of this in the ACHP’s ultimate report and recommendations as an introduction to the policy recommendations themselves. We envision the final statement will evolve based on input from stakeholders and the public as well as further reflections from the members.

Feel free to provide further ideas.

John
