Bob Yapp is coming to Greeley! Come hear and meet him talk preservation for a day! FREE and open to the public!
The Greeley Historic Preservation Commission is hosting a day of free historic preservation workshops by Bob Yapp on Saturday, October 24th from 8:30 – 3 p.m. at St. Patrick Presbyterian Church, 803 10th Avenue. History Colorado State Historical Fund and the National Park Service provided grant funds to the City of Greeley for these educational workshops. Bob Yapp is a national preservation expert with Preservation Resources, Inc. and the Belvedere School for Historic Preservation who presents workshops about historic preservation topics around the country. He created, produced, wrote and hosted the national PBS television program About Your House with Bob Yapp.
The public is invited to any or all of the following presentations by Mr. Yapp:
8:30 a.m. Doors open
8:45 – 10:15 a.m. “Creating a Preservation Ethic in Your Community” - Mr. Yapp will discuss the steps for making preservation a community value.
10:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. “Windows Aren’t a Pane – They’re a Goldmine” - Mr. Yapp will teach how to cost effectively repair or restore old windows and make them as or more energy efficient than replacement windows.
12 – 1:30 p.m. Lunch on your own.
1:30 – 3 p.m. “How to Hire & Work with a Contractor” - Mr. Yapp will walk participants through the process of finding and hiring the right contractor for historic property owners.
