For nearly 20 years, Historic Routt County has been the leader for documenting and protecting historic places and landscapes throughout Routt County, Colorado.
The organization directly protects historic places through project management and acting as Fiscal agent for organized community interest groups. HRC is a staunch advocate for historic preservation, with a focus on community integration, education, and outreach on many preservation-related topics. To further its mission, HRC partners with local state, and federal governments, as well as local cultural tourism and sustainability organizations, Main Street, youth experiential non-profits, and museums.
The Executive Director (ED) leads and manages Historic Routt County (HRC) by adhering to the strategic direction set by the Board of Directors. The ED implements the overall strategic and operational responsibility for HRC’s staff, programs, expansion, and execution of its mission while developing HRC’s preservation opportunities, procedures, core programs, and sustainable business plan.
The ED advocates Historic Preservation in Routt County “by connecting yesterday’s places with tomorrow.” To ensure HRC’s long term viability, the ED enriches HRC’s current partnerships and pursues new partnerships and funding opportunities. The ED coordinates grants for future projects, manages current preservation projects, and directs HRC’s finances and obligations.
The starting salary and benefits for the Executive Director position are negotiable based on experience.
