We are having a bus depot behind our complex and when the vehicles
start, repair and move around quite a lot of smoke and disturbances
are created. I have tried to educate the people here about planting
more trees and the advantages of the trees like taking carbon dioxide
and carbon monoxide and release Oxygen. It also provides shadow, helps
in retention of water in the soil, saves water to the ground and above
all provides home for many, many birds.
But being humans they all have their personal selfishness to the more
and cut down the trees saying that the trees shed leaves, lots of bird
dropping, avoids sun light to dry their clothes etc
Somehow I saved a pupil tree and allowed it to grow brushing out all
objections when I was in charge of the owner's association. This tree
now has grown so big; I doubt anybody will be able to cut it. Now so
many beautiful birds including parrots, myna, sparrows etc have built
their nests in it and in the early morning their chirping sound is so
sweet and encouraging and may be acting like an alarm for people to
get up.
It is a pleasure to see them and doves which reside on the sunshades
of the flats flying, pecking and eating on the roads of the complex.
