Danger to gir Lions

The recent rains and floods in Gujarat are having another undesirable
effect. The habitat of the Gir Lions is threatened by the surging
floods and there is a real danger of the forests getting inundated and
almost all the lions getting killed. Since everybody is more concerned
about the human safety and property, it is really a very bad situation
prevails there.

The same thing happened in the gazi ranga range where floods killed a
number of Rhinoceros and washed many of them away.
